Obituary

Miguel "Mike" Angel Rosario Sr., age 90, of St. James, Missouri, formerly of Dixon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Cuba Manor in Cuba, Missouri.

Mike was born on September 16, 1935, in Villalba, Puerto Rico, to Dolores Rosario. He was lovingly raised by his stepfather, Fausto Nevarez, whose guidance and love helped shape him.

Mike proudly served in the United States Army for 26 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant after a distinguished and honorable military career. Following his retirement from the Army, he continued his dedication to public service as a civil servant until his second retirement.

While raising his family and serving his country, Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981—a significant personal achievement that reflected his determination, perseverance, and commitment to providing for his family's future.

Mike's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was baptized at First Baptist Church in Waynesville, Missouri. He faithfully served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Dixon for many years and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in St. James at the time of his passing. Mike found his greatest joy in serving his church family and helping others.

Mike will be remembered most for his deep devotion to his family, his quiet strength, generous heart, and great sense of humor that brought smiles to everyone around him. He found joy in spending time with his loved ones and created lasting memories through his kindness, laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support. His legacy of love, service, perseverance, and the happiness he brought to others will continue to live on through all who knew him.

His legacy lives on through his family, who mourn his passing: his sons, Miguel "Mike" Rosario Jr. of Camdenton, Missouri; Robert Rosario (Heidi) of Grayslake, Illinois; and John Rosario (Kathy) of Maryland Heights, Missouri; six grandchildren, Shaynoah Hoskins (Cecil), Micaela Rosario, Baylee Wasielewski (Quill), Autumn Rosario, Xzavier Rosario, and Connor Rosario; three great-grandchildren, Josalin, Harper, and Alexandria; his sister, Lulu Rosario; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille; his mother, Dolores Rosario; his stepfather, Fausto Nevarez; his sister, Gloria; his daughter, Hope Ann Rosario; and his great-grandson, Gavin Sharp.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon, with his funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors was in Dixon Cemetery, Dixon.
