Mildred Jennings Hill, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, formerly of Dixon, was born on October 2, 1913, at Dixon, a daughter of Fred Jennings, and departed this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, in Hope Mills. Ms. Hill had attained the age of 99 years, 10 months, and 26 days.
Ms. Hill was preceded in death by her father and mother; one son, Carl E. Hill; one granddaughter, Erin Hill; one brother, James C. Jennings and one sister, Leona Smith.
Ms. Hill had worked for Kroger Grocery Stores in the meat department as well as being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and knitting.
Those left to mourn the passing of Ms. Hill include: one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Patricia Hill, Hope Mills, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Kelley Mattingly and her husband, William, Dixon; Kathy Hill and Jennifer Baker, both of Claremore, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Rose Mary Harris, Lebanon and Alta Mae Constantinides, St. Louis; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Ms. Hill at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in the Kenner Church of God, near Dixon, with Pastor Beverly Sharp officiating.
Interment was in the Kenner Cemetery near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Ms. Hill were relatives and friends.
