Obituary

Ardilla Nadene (Chandler) Johnson, of Dixon, was born on August 2, 1939 in Carlisle County, Kentucky, a daughter of James H. and Cordie Eudela (McCoy) Chandler and departed this life at 12:25 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Nadene had attained the age of 78 years, 5 months and 27 days.

Nadene was united in marriage on July 22, 1961, in St. Louis to Donald D. Johnson and to this union, two children were born. She was preceded in death by her father on April 9, 1989 and her mother on January 11, 2009.

Nadene was a member of the Church of Christ, Dixon. She had worked in administration in the Personnel Office at Fort Leonard Wood and was a news reporter for the Dixon Pilot and a court news reporter for the Daily Guide, Waynesville. Nadene enjoyed doing genealogy.

Those left to mourn the passing of Nadene include: her husband, Donald "Don" Johnson, Dixon; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald, Jr. "Butch" and Melonnie Johnson, Paradise, Texas; one daughter, Kelly Ann Johnson, Robinson, Illinois; one brother and sister-in-law, James, Jr. and Mary Lou "Crickett" (Smoot) Chandler and their children, Keli Marie Chandler and Krystal Chandler; one sister and brother-in-law, Anita (Chandler) and Douglas "Doug" Carroll and Anita's children, Nita Jo Palmer and John Alwyn Palmer, Jr.; and many other relatives, neighbors and worldwide friends.

Funeral services were held for Nadene at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018, in the Church of Christ, Dixon with Charles Pitts officiating.

Interment was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Nadene were Louis Boucher, Ralph Boucher, Bill Johnson, Austin Johnson, Danny Baker and Jim Weider.

Memorial Contributions are suggested by the family to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
