Obituary

Odis Dale Williams, of Dixon, was born on August 17, 1934, at Melrose, Arkansas, a son of Adler and Helen (Wade) Williams, and departed this life at 6:05 a.m., Saturday morning, November 8, 2014, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Mr. Williams had attained the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 21 days.

Mr. Williams was united in marriage on October 14, 1956, at Rondo, Arkansas, to Psyche Hinkle, and to this union, four children were born. He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Williams accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Williams was a retired United States Army veteran, having served 24 years. Following his military career, he had worked at the Military post office at Fort Leonard Wood. He enjoyed watching old movies, being out of doors, working in his yard and sightseeing with his wife.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Williams include: his wife, Psyche Williams, Dixon; his mother, Helen Williams, Dixon; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Williams, state of Utah; Michael Williams, state of Oklahoma and Alex and Shannon Williams, state of Tennessee; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Denny Maddox, state of Illinois; six grandchildren, Autumn, Landon, Alisa, Ria, Kenny and Sara; three great-grandchildren, Rheanna, Jayden and Lukas; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Williams at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Pastor James Hinkle, Clarksville, Texas officiating.

Graveside funeral services and interment with full military honors was in the Pisgah Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. United States Army personnel served as pallbearers for SFC (Ret) Odis D. Williams.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the Wounded Warriors Project with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
