Obituary

Ophelia Mae Duncan, of Dixon, was born on May 13, 1922, near Dixon in Pulaski County, the daughter of Virgil and Sarah (Kinsley) Hamilton and departed this life Monday, March 9, 2015, at 5:45 a.m. in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Mrs. Duncan had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 92 years and 10 months.

Mrs. Duncan was united in marriage on July 27, 1940 near Dixon to Warren Brooks Duncan and to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Duncan; her son, Terry Duncan; her daughter, Cindy Sellers; sister, Opal Bryan and her parents, Virgil and Sarah Hamilton.

Mrs. Duncan attended the Burnett Fundamental Christian Church of Dixon when she was able. Ophelia enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends and had retired from Brown Shoe Company, Dixon.

Those left to mourn the passing of Ophelia include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Sharon Duncan, Jefferson City; one son-in-law and his wife, Craig and Charlotte Sellers, Dixon; five grandchildren, Sandy Duncan and his wife, Jennifer, Ashland; Angelia Reid and her husband, Ray, Marshfield; Eric Duncan, Dixon; Kaleb Sellers, Columbia; Amanda Sellers, Columbia; six great-grandchildren, Tasha Duncan, California; Kayla Duncan, Jefferson City, Nathanial Duncan, Jefferson City, Joel Duncan, Ashland and Lake and Rossi Red, Marshfield; one great-great-grandchild, Haley Duncan, California; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held for Mrs. Duncan at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, in the Burnett Church near Dixon.
