Obituary

Pamela Renee Mendiola, age 61, of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, was born on September 26, 1961, at Rolla, Missouri, a daughter of Quentin C. Davis and Joy Minzes and departed this life on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in the Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama.

Pamela was united in marriage on May 10, 1979, at Lawton, Oklahoma to Mr. Francis LG. Mendiola and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her father. Quentin Davis on September 15, 2022.  And her step-father. Timothy Eldridge on March 4, 2020.

Pamela had worked as a sales associate for Sam's Club, retiring on April 4, 2022.  Pamela was a faithful servant to Christ.  She loved God and enjoyed sharing her faith with her family.  Pamela was an avid reader and loved to read romance novels.  She also was deeply interested in her family history.  She loved to talk about her ancestors and shared their stories with her children.  She enjoyed collecting vintage and antique furniture and had many pieces in her home that were once owned by her past relatives.  Her passion in life was her family.  Pamela enjoyed 43 years of marriage with Francis.  She made the effort to attend just about any family function from soccer games to dance recitals.  She loved seeing her grandchildren and often had a grandchild at her house at any given time.  She often made trips to Missouri and Texas to visit her mother, brothers, and sister.  Pamela was an amazing cook and she had to be in order to feed her large family.  A favorite at her house was her from scratch fried chicken with mashed potatoes and her after Thanksgiving turkey salad.  Pamela was a very smart woman and could surprise you with her amazing trivia skills.  She could answer questions from country music to geography without skipping a beat.  Pamela had a green thumb and it was most evident by the array of exotic plants you could find in and around her home.  She also knew her way around a garage and had a vast knowledge of the drag strip, cars, and she was an expert on tires.  Everyone knew Pamela's favorite color was blue and it isn't surprising being her birth stone is sapphire.  Pamela was a very organized person and some could even say she was a perfectionist.  Everything in her home had a place and it was always clean.  Pamela's dedication to her family and the Lord were unceasing.

Those left to mourn the passing of Pamela include: her husband, Francis Mendiola, Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; her children, Thomas (Josie) Mendiola and Jarrod (Neisha) Mendiola, all of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; Renee (Tiffany Roegele) Mendiola, Chattanooga, Tennessee and Rachel Mendiola, Madison, Alabama; her mother, Joy Eldridge, Houston, Texas; her step-mother Charline Davis, Dixon; her siblings, Darrin Davis, Dixon; Aaron Eldridge, Houston, Texas and Quenna Davis, Albuquerque, New Mexico; her grandchildren, Aspen, Caiden, Breylan, Everly, Declan, Ashlan, Alani, and many other relatives and friends.
