Pamela Kay Stokes, of Dixon, was born on July 23, 1959 at St. Louis, a daughter of Arthur "Bud" Gilgore and Margaret O. Vann and departed this life at 1:50 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at her residence near Dixon. Pamela had been in failing health for the past several months and had attained the age of 58 years, 9 months and 19 days.
Pamela was preceded in death by her father, "Bud"; her mother, Marge on September 11, 2015; her step-father, Harry James Fields in January of 2000; two brothers, Larry Kitchen and Sherman Kitchen; one sister, Ritha Wilson on December 30, 2016 and one niece, Stephanie Fields.
Pamela had worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. She enjoyed going to the creek and catching crawdads, fishing, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish the memory of Pamela include: her children, Steven Lynne Covert, Jr.; Lucretia Marie Covert and her husband, Josh Billings, Dixon and Kayla Brianna Sims and her friend, Garry Allen, Dixon; one brother, Harold James "Jimmy" Fields and his wife, Faith, House Springs; one sister, Patricia Murphy and her husband, Randy Canady, Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
