Robert Emerson Hohman, Sr., of Dixon, was born on October 26, 1961, at Belleville, Illinois a son of Roger Alan and Dorothy Jean (Emerson) Hohman and departed this life at 2:37 a.m., Saturday morning, January 2, 2021 in the Mercy Hospital, Springfield. Pastor Hohman had attained the age of 59 years, 2 months and 7 days.

Mr. Hohman was united in marriage on August 21, 1987, at St. Louis, to Miss Susan Elaine Walton and to this union, four children were born.

Pastor Hohman was baptized on January 25, 1987 and received the gift of the Holy Ghost on February 7th, 1987. He was the pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of Dixon, and then New Harvest Apostolic Church in St. Robert, where he was pastor until the time of his passing. While in Dixon, he ministered to many prisoners and led the Turning Point Substance Abuse Class since 2009. Prior to his pastoral calling, Mr. Hohman had worked as a painter, taper and hung wallpaper for 22 years. He was a member of the Local Union 2341, St. Louis, since 1987 and the United Pentecostal Church International since 1992. He enjoyed hunting, metal detecting, playing guitars and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan. His metal detecting friends fondly called him "Bullet Bob" because of the many civil war bullets that he found.

Those left to mourn the passing of Pastor Hohman include: his wife, Susan Hohman, of the home in Dixon; his mother, Dorothy Lindsey, O'Fallon; his children and their spouses, Robert Emerson (Amber) Hohman, II, Fenton; Heather Dalice (Corey) Johnson, Lafayette, Louisiana; Haleigh Ranae (Jordan) Arroyo, Tullahoma, Tennessee; and Collin Bryce (Tiffany) Hohman, Bryant, Arkansas; he was loving "Poppy" to five grandchildren, Garrett  Thomas Conger, Lilly Ann Hohman, Aubri Rhaelle Johnson, Tytus James Patrick Johnson and Emersyn Rae "Emmy" Hohman and two granddaughters expected in May 2021; three siblings, Michael Hohman, Highland, Illinois; Catherine Griffith, St. John and Christine Stout, O'Fallon; several nephews and nieces; his beloved church family; and many other relatives and friends.

Pastor Hohman was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hohman and his stepfather, Harold Lindsey.

Visitation from 1:00  - 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service for Pastor Robert Emerson Hohman, Sr. at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Tabernacle of Praise Church, 10730 County Road 2040, Rolla, with Rev. Stephen Willeford, Apostolic Pentecostal Church, St., Louis officiating. Rev. Chris Dew will lead the congregation singing "He Set Me Free", "Oh, I Want To See Him" and "Lord Prepare Me".

Honorary pallbearers for Pastor Hohman are Robert Emerson Hohman, II; Tyler Cummings, Timothy Griffith, Kristopher Griffith, Christian Romanowski, Jesus Hernandez and Joshua Gray.

Memorial contributions are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Tabernacle of Praise Church, Rolla or the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
