Patricia E. Prater passed from this life at the age of 88 on Monday, June 24, 2024 at her home in Raytown. Although a former long-time resident of Crocker, she was born on December 22, 1935, in Havana, Illinois.

She was married on May 19, 1965 in Miami, Oklahoma to the love of her life, Bobby Gene Prater. For many years, Patricia worked as the manager of a local laundromat alongside her roles as devoted housewife and homemaker. She was also a deeply selfless person, willingly and diligently serving as a caregiver for several ailing family members throughout her life.

Patricia loved being outdoors and was often most content when she could "putter around" in the soil. While she took joy in always being on the go, she also took pleasure in kicking back in her recliner while catching up on her stories. She never missed a NASCAR race, and she spent many Monday evenings yelling at her favorite wrestlers with a voice she had perfected through numerous rounds of bingo. In quieter times, she enjoyed word searches. Though she had a heart big enough for all animals, Patricia considered her own dogs some of her best friends.

More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, two children, James and Troy, and her beloved husband.

Those left to mourn the passing of Patricia include: her children, Norma, Sandra, Mike, Gary, and Janetta; an incalculable number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and multi-great-grandchildren; and a wide array of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 29, 2024 in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker.

Private burial will be held at a later time in the Crocker Cemetery, Crocker.
