Paul Gene Lathrop, 52, of Richland, was born on October 25, 1968, at Leavenworth, Kansas a son of James Elwin and Dorothy Corinne (McDowell) Lathrop and departed this life at 11:49 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his residence.

Paul was a graduate of Crocker High School. He worked for the Missouri License Bureau for over 17 years and at the time of his passing, he had driven for Hiland Dairy for the past 16 years. In earlier years, Paul enjoyed playing softball and hunting, he enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and was an avid golfer. When he wasn't golfing, he could be found enjoying his time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Paul include: his children, Adam Lathrop and his wife, Rainey, Lebanon; Josh Mahan and Brian Mahan and his wife, Erin, all of Richland; his two beloved grandchildren, Kaelyn and Ethan with his third grandchild, Axton expected any day; his siblings, Jim Lathrop, Crocker; Reba Carter, Waynesville and Corky Hill and her husband, Gayle, Iberia; his former wife, Deidra Curtman, Waynesville and many other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Lathrop-Jones; his father, James on December 10, 2020 and his mother, Dorothy on January 24, 2017.

Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Jimmy Moore officiating.

Interment in the Hawkeye Cemetery near Crocker, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers of Paul are Adam Lathrop, Josh Mahan, Brian Mahan, Gayle Hill, Wesley Hill and Travis Becker. Honorary pallbearers were Ethan Kohler, Taylor Andrews and Kaelyn Jones.
