Paul D. Rhew, age 77, of Dixon, was born on February 18, 1947, at Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, a son of John D. and Julia Lurece (Cross) Rhew and passed from this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at his residence.
He was united in marriage on October 1, 1983 to Deborah Ann Mayberry. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Rhew in 2004 and Lurece in 2008; his brother, Bobby Rhew in 2017 and Bobby's wife, Pamela Kay Rhew in 2014.
Paul was baptized at a young age while attending the Independence Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas. He was the office manager for Brown Shoe, Dixon until it closed in 1992; then was employed with Paramount Headwear Factory from 1994 until 2003 and worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections from 2004 until 2016 when he retired. He was an aviation enthusiast, enjoyed the EAA Aviation Organization, enjoyed woodworking, and had built wooden airplane pedal vehicles for the grandchildren. Paul was a naturalist who enjoyed target shooting, being in the outdoors and volunteering at the Dixon Senior Center.
Those left to mourn the passing of Paul include: His wife, Debbie, Dixon; two sons, Michael Rhew, Huntsville, Arkansas and Terry (Thuy) Rhew, Rogers, Arkansas; his daughters, Jennifer (Robin) Thompson, Huntsville, Arkansas and Penny (Jeff) Brunkhorst, Rolla, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Connor Chadbourne, Justin Tucker, Thompson Rhew, T.J. Rhew, Shay Stroud, Kelsey Alsup, Kylie Brunkhorst and Kade Brunkhorst, numerous nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held for Paul from 2 p.m. until the time of his service at 4 p.m., all on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel at 205 W. Third St., Dixon, Missouri 65459.
Honorary pallbearers are Connor Chadbourne, Justin Tucker, Thompson Rhew, T.J. Rhew, Shay Stroud, and Kade Brunkhorst.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Dixon Senior Center in Memory of Paul D. Rhew, with envelopes available at the funeral or in c/o Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home at P.O. Box GG, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
