Obituary

Paul William Smith, age 84, of Crocker, was born on October 4, 1938, in Crocker a son of William Thomas and Jessie Maxine (Manes) Smith and departed this life on Tuesday morning, July 25, 2023.

Paul worked for MODOT as a crew leader retiring after 28 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crocker and the Crocker Saddle Club. He enjoyed riding horses, going on trail rides, being on the farm and dancing to a country band. He never turned down the opportunity to brag on "his girls". He was a gentle soul, never met a stranger, always had a smile and was known for his contagious laugh.

Those left to mourn but cherish the memory of Paul include: his daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene (Joe) Hancock, Versailles; Melaine (Frank) Mero, state of Washington; Ruby Wells, state of Kentucky; Lisa Voss, Iberia and Miranda (Spencer) Voss, Eldon; two sisters, Fyrn Peterson and Ann Holmes; the mother of his children, Juanita; ten grandchildren, Tim, Joe, Marlin, Ann, Sara, Alec, Jenna, Ryan, Dylan and Shayli; eight great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, David Smith, Stanley Smith and James Smith and one son-in-law, Randy Voss.

Visitation will be held for Mr. Smith from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Long- Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Paul William Smith will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions are per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
