Zola Pauline Sheeley, of Waynesville, formerly of Crocker, was born on August 13, 1912, at Hawkeye, a daughter of William A. and Mary (Bowin) Wall and departed this life at 4:03 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016, in the Waynesville Care Center of Waynesville. Mrs. Sheeley had attained the age of 103 years, 8 months, and 9 days.
Mrs. Sheeley was united in marriage on June 12, 1937, at Clayton to Charles Franklin Sheeley. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 29, 1989; her father, Willie on February 17, 1946; her mother, Mary on September 21, 1961; five brothers, an infant on March 17, 1894; Everett Wall on April 25, 1978; Andy Wall on February 26, 2001; Cecil Wall on October 15, 1934 and Delmar Wall on April 19, 1986 and five sisters, an infant on December 24, 1905; Bertha Luttrell on April 26, 1964; Edna Alexander on August 30, 1988;Letha Long on January 19, 1933 and Lula Duncan on October 24, 2004.
Mrs. Sheeley attended Hawkeye School and as a young woman worked for a family in St. Louis caring for their child. Following her marriage to Frank, they made their home in Baytown, Texas area where Frank was employed for 37 years. After Frank's retirement, he and Pauline made their home in the Crocker area where she continued as a homemaker and housewife. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, making crafts, playing cards and doing puzzles at the Senior Center in Crocker. Pauline enjoyed traveling on bus tours into her 90's, remained active and lived independently until the age of 97.
Those left to cherish her memory include: one sister-in-law, Sarah Wall, Marshfield; one nephew; several nieces and other relatives and friends.
