Pauline Emma Sherrell, of rural Dixon, was born on February 21, 1943, at Dixon, a daughter of William Claude and Emma Katy (Bacon) Watson and departed this life at 6:43 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2020 in the Landmark Hospital, Columbia. Pauline had attained the age of 77 years, 1 month and 14 days.
Pauline was united in marriage on October 2, 1959, at Dixon, to Charles William Sherrell and to this union, a daughter was born. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on September 3, 2019; her daughter, Angela on March 24, 2020; her parents, William and Emma Watson; one brother, Small Watson and two sisters, Alma Wyss and Bertha May Johnson.
Pauline was a member of the Hancock Christian Church near Dixon and had worked as a personnel clerk for the Department of the Army retiring after 25 years of service. She then went to work for the Dixon Branch of the Maries County Bank and later drove the OATS bus. Pauline enjoyed sewing and loved making rugs on her mother's loom and helping anyone in need.
Those left to mourn the passing of Pauline include: special nephew, Kenneth (Connie) Wyss, who was like a son; special great nephews who were like her grandsons, Darrell (Gail) Wyss, Jefferson City and Scott (Carrie) Wyss, Cape Girardeau; her great-great nephew and nieces, Joel Wyss, Raegen Wyss and Ashtyn Wyss; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Mary Sherrell and Sam and Sandy Sherrell, all of Dixon; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda Campbell, Dixon; Idena and Ron Hall, Belle and Connie and Mike Morgan, Farmington; special friend who was like family, Mike Alexander; several nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
Pauline graciously donated her body to science in hopes of helping others.
A private graveside service and interment will be held at a later date in the Freedom Cemetery near Dixon.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Freedom Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
