Obituary

Peggy Ann Johnson, of Dixon, was born on September 6, 1936, at Hoisington, Kansas, a daughter of David H. and Beatrice E. (Maxwell) Cook, and departed this life at 1:35 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at her residence near Dixon. Mrs. Johnson had attained the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

Mrs. Johnson met her husband, Eldon Earl Johnson while attending high school. They were united in marriage on August 21, 1955 at Hoisington, Kansas, and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 28, 1984; one son, infant Howard Lee Johnson; one brother, David Cook; and three sisters, Theda Bea Sellens, Gloria Jean Ruble and Susie Lee Taylor.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Dixon Saddle Club and the Missouri Medical Emergency Services Association. She traveled extensively around the United States and Europe with her husband during his military career. Mrs. Johnson began a career in Emergency Medical Services in the 1970's, and retired from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Johnson include: one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Ramona Johnson, Globe, Arizona; two daughters and one-son-law, Karen Kay and Gene Williams, Waynesville and Kelly Johnson, Dixon; two grandchildren, Amanda Faye Williams, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming and Daniel Williams, Overland Park, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held for Mrs. Johnson at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2014, in the Dixon Cemetery with Chaplain Lindy Hardwick officiating and Mike Kleeschulte providing the closing prayer.
