Quentin Christy Davis, 81, of Dixon, was born on November 14, 1940, at Stickney, Mo. , a son of Champ Clark and Tennie Marie (Skyles) Davis and departed this life at 11:56 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022 at his residence.
Quentin was united in marriage on June 12, 1965, at Rolla, Mo. to the former Miss Charline Alexander. At 4 years of age, Quentin was preceded in death by his father, Champ Clark Davis. In adulthood, he was preceded in death by his mother, Tennie Davis; his stepfather, Donald Davis; and his grandparents who raised him, Christy and Nora Davis.
Over the years, Quentin had attended Highpoint and Kenner Church near Dixon. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge No. 346 A.F. & A.M., Dixon for 47 years. He was raised to the degree of Master Mason in 1974 and served as Worshipful Master from 2012 – 2014. Quentin was active in his local communities serving as past President and current Board member of the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop; served as Mayor for the City of Dixon from 1981 through 1991; was a member of the Dixon Lions Club, AAA Towing and accomplished EMT certification. Quentin farmed cattle for many decades in Maries county; owned and operated the Vienna school bus for 30 years; owned and operated the Dixon Standard gas station and Davis Towing. Quentin was still towing vehicles at the time of his passing. Quentin and Charline enjoyed many trips to Colorado and he enjoyed 39 years of going to Wyoming antelope hunting.
Those left to cherish the memories of Quentin include: his beloved wife, Charline Davis, Dixon; his children, Darrin Davis, Dixon; Quenna Davis, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Pamela Mendiola and her husband, Francis, Huntsville, Alabama; his step-sisters, Barbara Baker and DonaRae Morrison; 13 grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Erin, Andrew, Johnna, Septymber, Nya, Alexandria, Meghan, Thomas, Jarrod, Renee and Rachel; 30 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held for Quentin from 5 – 7 p.m. with Masonic Services under the auspices of the Arlington Lodge Number 346 A.F. & A.M., Dixon at 7 p.m., on Monday, September 19, 2022, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Helen Winters, Seaton Faith Fellowship Church officiating. Interment will be in the Kenner Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
The family request you join them in a Celebration of Life potluck immediately following interment at Kenner Church picnic pavilion.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Pulaski County Special Service (pcbh.net) in memory of Mr. Quentin C. Davis.
