Rabel Gay "Rae" Bledsoe, of St. Robert, was born on May 25, 1950, at Beaumont, Texas, a daughter of James Edwin and Effie Zuba (Kimmell) McCormick, and departed this life at 2:13 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2015, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Rae had attained the age of 65 years, 1 month, and 10 days.
Rae had worked as a supervisor for DPTM at Fort Leonard Wood retiring in 2008. She loved all animals, especially her dogs, Amber and Bandit.
Those left to cherish her memories include: two nephews, Tony Barton of Atlanta, Georgia and Ken Barton of Huntsville, Alabama; one niece, Nancy Hubbard, Mansfield, Texas; great-nephew, Stuart Barton of Raleigh, North Carolina; great-nieces, Danielle Hubbard and Erica Hubbard both of Mansfield, Texas and Jessica Barton and Marissa Barton both of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Rae was preceded in death by her father, James McCormick; her mother, Effie McCormick James on October 15, 2012 and one sister, Jessica Sue Barton on February 2, 1988.
Funeral services were conducted for Rae at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2015, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Jimmy Moore, Crocker officiating. "In The Garden" and "Morning Has Broken" were played for the service.
Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Rae were relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested, per Rae's wishes, to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ASPCA, New York, New York or to the Best Friends Animal Society, Kanab, Utah with envelops available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
