Obituary

Randall "Randy" Alex Thompson, of Linn Creek; formally of Westphalia and the Dixon-Vienna area, was born on March 27, 1961, at Jefferson City, a son of James Alex and Ethel Lorene (Fritchey) Thompson, and departed this life on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at his residence in Linn Creek. Randy had attained the age of 52 years, 4 months, and 1 day.

Randy graduated with many honors in band, sports and scholastic from Vienna High School 1979. In early years Randy followed in his father's footsteps by working in lumber, before going on to be the owner and operator of his own construction company. His passion was spending time with the loves of his life; his daughter Nichole and his granddaughter Haleigh. Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing wood working and the outdoors. Randy was not only a proud father and grandfather, but also a proud son, brother and uncle. Randy's most prized processions were things that money could never buy; his family, a life overlooking the sunset on the dock and a good country song. Randy never knew a stranger and will always be treasured a caring, forgiving, soft hearted soul. Randy will fondly be remembered as one who loved to tell old stories, had an unforgettable laugh and one that just wanted to enjoy the simple things in life.

Those left to mourn the passing of Randy include: his daughter, Nichole Thompson, Jefferson City; his granddaughter, Haleigh Thompson-Nelson; his father, James Thompson, Westphalia (formally of the Dixon/Vienna area); two brothers and one sister-in-law, Dennis and Charolett Thompson, Dixon and Scott Thompson, Oil City, Pennsylvania; nephews, Jimmy, Joey and Justin Thompson, Robert Baker; nieces, Rhonda and husband Robert, Skylar Maddox, Heather Baker, Brooklyn Atterberry; and a host of relatives and friends. Also, Randy's close friends; Mike Welschmeyer and Chad Nelson and his special concrete dock buddy "Joe".

Randy was preceded death by his mother on June 10, 2013.
