Obituary

Reba Marie Carter, age 65, of Crocker, was born on November 8, 1957, at Lincoln, Nebraska, a daughter of James Elwin and Dorothy Corinne (McDowell) Lathrop and departed this life on Friday, October 27, 2023 at her residence.

Reba had been a waitress and cook for all of her working life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, embordering, listening to music, animals and her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Reba include: her children, Mike (Erin) Shelton of Lonedell and Rachel Carter, Springfield; her brother, Jimmy Lathrop, Crocker; her sister and brother-in-law, Corky (Gayle) Hill of Iberia; two grandchildren, Jordan and Jayden; three great-grandchildren, Parker, Riley and Harley and many other relatives and friends.

Reba was preceded in death by her father, Jim on December 10, 2020, her mother, Dorothy on January 24, 2017; her brother, Paul Gene Lathrop on October 13, 2021 and her niece, Julia Jones.

Graveside services will be held for Reba at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 2, 2023 in the Hawkeye Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Honorary pallbearers for Reba are Mike Shelton, Jimmy Lathrop, Adam Lathrop and Wesley Hill.

There will be a gathering at Baxter's Lakeside Grille, Lake of the Ozarks for a reception following the graveside service until 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to stop by and celebrate Reba's life with her family.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
