Rena Marie Yoakum, of Dixon, was born on March 11, 1948, at St. Louis, a daughter of William Richard and Ina June (Gray) Burns and departed this life at 8:10 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2020 in the Phelps Health, Rolla. Mrs. Yoakum had been in failing health and had attained the age 72 years, 9 months and 10 days.

Rena was united in marriage on November 13, 1992 at Dixon to William Roger Yoakum and to this union, one son was born. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 9, 2013; her father William Richard on September 15, 1968; her mother, Ina on May 21, 1997 and one sister, Ina "Sue" Burns.

Rena was a graduate of Dixon High School and a member of the Dixon United Methodist Church. She had worked as a waitress early in life and was a housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of others. Rena was always the first one to step up and help others in need. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and loved her cats.

Those left to mourn the passing of Rena include: her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Stacey Yoakum, Dixon; her step-sons, Roger Yoakum and his wife, Susan, Dixon and Stanley Yoakum, Jefferson City; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Eddie and Joann Burns and Richard Burns, all of Dixon; seven grandchildren, Tyson, Ryan, Lauren, Hank, Chantry, Slater and Charlotte; four great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces and many other relatives and friends.
