Richard F. Tingle, 89, of Crocker, was born on December 30, 1931, at Jena, Louisiana, a son of Richard Forrest and Myrtle (Rosier) Tingle and departed this life at 7:10 a.m., Friday morning, July 23, 2021 in the Life Care Center of Waynesville.
Mr. Tingle was united in marriage April 17, 1954 at Crocker to Miss Virginia Lucille Whittle and to this union, one son was born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny on March 3, 2020; his father, Forrest on January 10, 1976 and his mother, Myrtle on October 10, 2006.
Mr. Tingle was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and being honorable discharged on December 2, 1954.
Mr. Tingle was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Waynesville. He was baptized at a young age and was a faithful member of the Crocker Christian Church. Richard and Ginny looked forward to being involved with Journey to Bethlehem for many years. He had worked as a postal carrier for the Fort Leonard Wood Post Office for many years and retiring in the early 1980's. After retirement, he drove a school bus for the Crocker schools. Mr. Tingle enjoyed farming, gardening and being with his grandson and great-grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Tingle include: his son and daughter-in-law, Charley and Pam Tingle, Crocker; his grandson and his wife, Craig and Wendy McMurtrey; his two great-grandchildren, Caleb McMurtrey and Callie McMurtrey; his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Betty Tingle, Shreve Port, Louisiana; two nephews, Greg Tingle and Tony Tingle and his wife, Rose Mary; his church family and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2021 in the Crocker Christian Church with Larry Richardson officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Tingle are Craig McMurtrey, Caleb McMurtrey, Bill Voiles, Roy Peterson, Kris York and Rick Burnett. Honorary pallbearers are Bernard Houlehan, Dennis Ringer and Emmett Brumley.
Memorials are suggested by the family to the Crocker Christian Church with envelopes available at the church or the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
