Rita Ann Strutton, of Crocker, was born on October 11, 1949, in Smith County, Kansas, a daughter of Donald George and Naomi Lois (Walker) Cantor and departed this life on Friday morning, April 15, 2016, at her residence in Crocker. Mrs. Strutton had been in failing health and had attained the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 4 days.
Mrs. Strutton was united in marriage on June 20, 1966, at Franklin, Nebraska to Darrell Eugene Strutton and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her father Donald on July 7, 2003; her mother, Naomi on June 14, 2004; and one sister, Donna Jean Minnick.
Mrs. Strutton attended the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post No. 4956, Crocker. She had worked at Fort Leonard Wood as a dispatcher for ITT as well as being a loving and devoted homemaker and housewife. Mrs. Strutton loved to play Bingo, Yahtzee, going shopping, yard sales, tending to her flower garden, the humming birds around her home and her dogs, but above all loved spending time with her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Strutton include: her husband, Darrell Strutton of the home in Crocker; two sons, Richard (Kim) Strutton and Kevin (Shelly) Strutton; two daughters, Diana (Terry Major) Strutton and Sandra Strutton, all of Crocker; one brother, James (Judy) Cantor, Woodston, Kansas; one sister, Annette (Ronald) Strickland, Red Cloud, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Justin, Rachel, Jacob, Sean, Elecia, Austin, and Nikki; five great-grandchildren, Trevor, Owen, Adilynn, Hailey and Hadleigh; and many other relatives and friends.
