Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Arthur Preston, of Dixon, was born in Koshkonong, Missouri, and departed this life at 11:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

Mr. Preston was united in marriage on May 9, 1998, at Dixon to Linda Joyce Fagerlin. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Mr. Preston had worked for the Daily Guide, Waynesville as well as being an Avon Representative for all of mid Missouri. He was a talented musician and had a love for music and playing the guitar.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Preston include: his wife, Linda Fagerlin Preston, Dixon; his children, Mary (Jason) Fletcher, state of Idaho; Haley (Adam) Powers, Crocker; James (Anne) Fletcher, state of Texas; Steve Fletcher and Eddie Fletcher, both of the state of Arkansas; and Pam Jackson, state of Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jonathan Arnold, Kate Hickman, Eva Powers, Tiffany Fletcher and Danielle Fletcher; two great-grandchildren; two nieces, Angie Arroyo and Christy Williams, special friend, Ray Carson; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Preston at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Lee A. Todd, Concord Christian Church, Crocker, officiating. Three favorite selections, "Life's Been Good To Him"(written and recorded by Ray Carson), "Guitar Man" (performed by Jimmy Williams and Steve Nichols), and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" will be played for the service.

Interment will be in the Pisgah Cemetery near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Preston are Wayne Pursley, Sr., Wayne "Bud" Pursley, Jr., Steve Nichols, Billy Arr, Adam Fagerlin and Jonathan Arnold. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Graham and Ray Carson.

Memorial contributions are suggested to "Tonya's Hope" (a local charity established in 2011, which assists members of the community with over whelming medical bills not covered by insurance), with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
