Obituary

Robert Harold Ray, age 93 years, of Dixon, was born on March 10, 1931, at Dixon, a son of Dorsey Lee and Martha Frances "Mattie" (Neeley) Ray and departed this life on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in the Life Care Center of Waynesville.

Mr. Ray was baptized early in life. He was self employed as a timber contractor for all of his working life. In his spare time he enjoyed coon hunting, digging roots and trading his goods.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Ray include: his children, Bobby Ray and his wife, Jackie of Dixon and Connie Romain of the state of Texas; three grandchildren, Austin Ray, Brandy Odgers and her husband, Nicholas and Brittany Ray and her companion Nicholas Ayers; six great-grandchildren, Braxton Ray, Kailey Odgers, Kaitlyn Odgers, Aden Esparza, Addison Hudson and Chloe Hudson, nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Lynn Ray on February 25, 1965; his father, Dorsey on June 12, 1982; his mother, Mattie on March 28, 1974; three brothers, Sterling Ray, Paul Ray and Charles Ray; two sisters, Stella Guffey and Zedna Wangerin and the mother of his children, Betty Helton.

Visitation for Mr. Robert Harold Ray will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11 a.m. all on Friday, January 31, 2025, in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, 205 West Third Street, Dixon, Missouri, with Pastor Helen Winters, Seaton Faith Fellowship Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Ray include Aden Esparza, Nicholas Odgers, Nicholas Ayers, Logan Ray, Clarence "Boomer" Purcell and Austin Ray.

Memorials in memory of Mr. Robert Harold Ray are suggested per the wishes of the family, with envelopes available the day of his service or in care of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, MO 65459.
