Robert "Bob" Stanton, of Crocker, was born on April 24, 1939, at Conewango Valley, New York, a son of Kermit and Helen (Blankenfeldt) Stanton, and departed this life at 6:11 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in the General Leonard Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood. Bob has attained the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 22 days.
Bob was united in marriage on August 4, 1979, at Buckhorn, to Carol Bell. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald Stanton; one sister, Betty Stanton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roscoe and Jane Bell; one brother-in-law, Maurice Buck; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Bell.
Bob had accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior and followed his Lord in Baptism early in life and at the time of his passing was a member of the Crocker Assembly of God Church, Crocker. He retired from the United States Army after twenty plus years. A man of excellent character, his "Honorable Discharge' is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country. Bob then worked in construction for over twenty-five years.
Those left to mourn his passing include: His wife, Carol Stanton of the home near Crocker; two sons, Barry Floyd and wife, Erica, and Darren Floyd, all of St. Louis; two daughters, Cheryl Maciyewski and husband, Dan, Orchard Park, New York; and Stephanie Prazska and husband, Bob, Dunkirk, New York; two sisters, Alice Buck, Dunkirk, New York; and Ione Alderich, Tempe, Arizona; four grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Stephen and Jacob; nephews, nieces; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Bob at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2014, in the Crocker Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Mike Davis, pastor, officiating.
Interment with Ms. Dana Wood and full military honors were in the Eugene Cemetery, Eugene, under the direction of the Crocker Chapel of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. Pallbearers for Bob were Barry Floyd, Darren Floyd, Dale DeLong, Tim Johnson, Joe Bradd, and Brad DeLong.
