Robin Lynn Mitchell, of Dixon, was born on September 4, 1956, at Rolla, a son of John William and Hope (Blue) Mitchell and departed this life at 8:48 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2013, at his residence near Dixon and had attained the age of 57 years and 16 days.
Robin was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Curtiss Dale Mitchell and Aaron William Mitchell.
Robin was a lifelong member of the Dixon community and had worked as a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver. He was a committed Christian and was baptized early in life at Pisgah Baptist Church. He wore out several bibles as a serious student of Scripture and was overjoyed when he saw his children come to know the Lord. A distinguishing characteristic of Robin's was his forgiving spirit. He loved his children and grandchildren with an exceeding love and was a selfless giver. His last years were spent caring for his aging mother and assisting family in any capacity that was needed. He was especially fond of giving 4-wheeler rides to the grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to mourn the passing of Robin include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Mirinda and Shaun Decker and Elisha and David Roy McMillian, all of Dixon; his Mother, Hope Mitchell, Dixon; nine grandchildren, Josh, Jaden, Nova, Regan, Abrianna, Camron, Justus, Owen and Kalyn; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services were held for Robin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the Dixon Cemetery, with Bro. Rob Pelkey, Sherwood Hills Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana, officiating.
