Roger Elbert Carver, of Crocker, was born on February 12, 1958, at Waynesville, a son of Dizzy Lefon and Winona Elsie (Burnett) Carver and departed this life at 1:20 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014, in the University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. Roger had attained the age of 56 years, 6 months and 4 days.
Roger was baptized early in life and had attended the Sweet Home Christian Church, Crocker. He told his family he had made his peace with God and had Him in his heart. He was a member of the South 17 Cruisers and former member of the Cave State Cruisers. He loved riding his motorcycle, singing, drawing, drag racing and doing Indian Crafts. He had worked in construction.
Those left to mourn the passing of Roger include: one daughter, Dorothy Carver, Eldon; one son, D.J. Carver, Crocker; his father and step-mother, Diz and Carolyn Carver, Crocker; his mother and step-father, Winona and Tom Lankow, Linn Creek; his grandmother, Hilda Sooter, state of Idaho; one sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Willie Luttrell, Iberia; three step-daughters, Barbie, Laura and Peggy; one step-sister, Marquita; two step-brothers, Brad and Kenneth; numerous grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his former wives, Pamela Nelson and Patricia Carver; nephews; nieces; uncles; aunts; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will Sooter, Marie Carver, Snowden Burnett and Eva Burnett.
Funeral service were conducted for Roger at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014, in the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Richland with Pastor Chuck Baker officiating.
Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Roger were Wesley Anderson, John Platten, Jay Tomnitz, Mike Humphrey, Doug Platten and Kenneth DuBerry. Honorary pallbearers were Clayton Clark, Doug Burnett, Willet Clark and Danny Lane.
