MR. ROLAND WALL
Roland Farris Wall, of Crocker, was born on June 5, 1945, at Covington, Kentucky, a son of Lester Farris and Juanita Jean (Duncan) Wall, and departed this life at 3:12 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2012, at his residence near Crocker. Mr. Wall had attained the age of 67 years, 6 months and 16 days.
Mr. Wall was united in marriage on July 1, 1966, at Aiken, South Carolina to Mary Lorraine Petersen and to this union, three children were born. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Mr. Wall was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Crocker Christian Church and the Cave State Cruisers car club. He enjoyed restoring old hot rods, his cattle farm, fishing and hunting. His greatest joys came from the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. Roland spent much of his career in the advertising field, but concluded his working years as a salesman.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Wall include: his wife, Mary Wall, Crocker; his mother, Juanita Wall, Crocker; two sons, Matthew Farris Wall, Crocker and Mark Edward Wall, Richland; one daughter, Cynthia Ann Doran, Kansas City; four brothers, Randolph Wall, Crocker, Rex Wall, Richland, Russell Wall and Roger Wall both of Crocker; two sisters, Rhonda Thornsberry, Crocker and Rhoda Koshlap, Big Canoe, Georgia; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Wall at 12:00 noon, Monday, December 24, 2012, in the Crocker Christian Church, with Bro. Larry Richardson officiating. Two favorite selections of "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace" were played for the service.
Interment with full military honors was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Wall were Randy Wall, Rex Wall, Trent Doran, Tyler Doran, Mick Wall and Travis Prewett. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Thornsberry, James Koshlap, Johnny Prewett, Robert Petersen, James Doran and Howard Slawson.
This man of impeccable character will be greatly missed by all that new and loved him.
