Ronald V. Walker, 77, of Crocker and Iberia, was born March 14, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, son to Spurgeon Albert and Harriet Estella (Prater) Walker. Ronald departed this life at 6:18 p.m., Monday, November 22, 2021, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Ronald spent an early part of his career working for McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Company where he contributed to working on the Gemini Spacecraft in the 1960s. He later went to work for the United States Post Office delivering mail for a short time before becoming Post Master for Laquey and then Iberia from where he retired. Ronald also owned and operated Ron's Auto Body Shop in Crocker. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriner's. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and helping people.

Those left to mourn the passing of Ronald include: his companion of 21 years, Sharon Smith of Iberia, along with her children Evan Brown and wife, Erica, of Kaiser; Kristen Brown and fiancé, John Heckenkamp, of St. Charles, and Collin Field and wife, Paige, of Pacific, as well as a long and far reaching list of dear friends and families throughout the communities in which Ronald touched so many lives.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Spurgeon on May 20, 1998 and his mother, Harriet on February 20, 1996.

Services for Ronald will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel in Crocker with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. and service time at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be in the Freedom Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
