Ronald Wayne Ruppel, 82, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025.
Ron was born on July 13, 1942, in Granite City, Illinois, to Robert (Bob) and Thelma Ruppel. He graduated from the University of Missouri where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He built a long and respected career as a partner at Price Waterhouse and CFO at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Outside of work, Ron found joy in traveling the world with his wife, playing golf, and spending time in his garage, where he could often be found building, tinkering, and creating with care and craftsmanship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Thelma Ruppel; his daughter, Jennifer Poulson; and his brother, Richard Ruppel.
Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine Ruppel; his children, Craig Ruppel (Corrie) and Terri Ann Gore (Tim); his brother, Robert Ruppel (Joyce); sisters-in-law, Shirley Ruppel & Margaret Schlueter (Bill), son-in-law Kent Poulson, grandchildren: Trevor Poulson, Carter Poulson, Riley Poulson, Morgan Poulson, Sawyer Poulson, Alexander Gore, Kaitlynn Gore, Ashley Ruppel and Haley Ruppel, nieces, nephews and friends
Ron will be remembered for his humor, devotion and deep love for his family. Whether enjoying a walk through a new city, teeing off at Avery Ranch, or working with his hands in the garage, he approached life with patience, thoughtfulness, and care.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation for Ron will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his service at 12 noon, all on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, 205 W. Third Steet., Dixon, with Deacon Troy Porter, First Baptist Church, Dixon officiating.
Interment will be in the Pisgah Cemetery, Dixon, under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers will be Kent Poulson, Tim Gore, Trevor Poulson, Carter Poulson, Alexander Gore, Riley Poulson, and Morgan Poulson. Honorary pallbearers are Sawyer Poulson, Mike Schlueter, Randy Ruppel, and Kurt Ruppel.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home at P.O. Box GG, Dixon, MO 65459.
