Rose Marie Walters, of Crocker, was born on September 6, 1930, at St. Louis, a daughter of Sam and Elizabeth (Swyers) Veach, and departed this life at 12:16 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2017, in the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach. Mrs. Walters had attained the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 16 days.
Mrs. Walters was united in marriage on July 13, 1951, at Rock Hill, to William Eugene Walters and to this union, two sons were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 16, 1993; her parents, Sam and Elizabeth; one grandson, Jeffery Walters and one sister, Louise Hollingsworth.
Mrs. Walters attended the First Baptist Church, Crocker. Early in life, she had worked as a telephone operator and was a housewife and homemaker always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Mrs. Walters enjoyed reading and going on the Oats bus.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Walters include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Marge Walters, Center Town and Sam and Kim Walters, Crocker; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Walters were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Pastor Doug Jacobson, Eureka Baptist Church, Richland, officiating.
Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery near Crocker, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Walters were Sam Walters, Donnie Stokes, Danny Jones, Jamie Cross, James Skaggs and Dennis Fagre.
