Obituary

Rosie Fern Parker, of Dixon, was born on June 20, 1925, at Cherryville, a daughter of Cletus and Merttie (Mauk) Murry and departed this life at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, October 7, 2018 in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Mrs. Parker had attained the age of 93 years, 3 months, and 17 days.

Mrs. Parker was united in marriage on December 30, 1941 to Clarence Allen Parker and to this union, seven children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 3, 1986; two sons, Jimmy Parker and Richard Parker; her parents, Cletus and Merttie and one son-in-law, Larry Blanchard.

Mrs. Parker was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon. She had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and followed her Lord in baptism in 1961. Mrs. Parker enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, baking cookies and was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Parker include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobbie and Nancy Parker, Des Moines, Iowa; Virgel and Janet Parker and Roy and Kyong Parker, all of Dixon; two daughters and one son-in-law, Virginia Blanchard and Doris and Bill Howser, all of Dixon; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
