Obituary

Roy Lee Overshon, age 80, of Dixon, was born on September 16, 1945, at Dixon, a son of Adolph Moses and Gertrude Isabel (Robertson) Overshon and passed from this life on Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026 in the Phelps Health, Rolla.

Mr. Overshon was united in marriage to Miss Bobbie Lee Hall on August 7, 1965, and to this union, two daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Gertrude and one sister, Berniece Copeland.

Mr. Overshon began his career as a meat cutter working at the Dixon Locker Plant from 1963 until 1965. He then went to work at the commissary at Fort Leonard Wood for 21 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Overshon enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish the memories of Mr. Overshon include: his wife, Bobbie, of the home near Dixon; his daughters, Dawn Watkins, Venice, Florida and Sherri Dake, Nixa; one brother, Bobby Wayne Overshon, Dixon; six granddaughters, Dalena Camper, Whitney Williams, Jennifer Mango, Lindsey Dake, Chasta Cole and Jordan Rohrbaugh; fifteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Mr. Overshon from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Bro. Archie Atwell, Hephzibah Holiness Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Overshon will be Breighton Meenach, Dalena Camper, Whitney Williams, Jordan Rohrbaugh, Jennifer Mango, Lindsey Dake and Chasta Cole.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Dixon Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home the day of his service or c/o the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, MO  65459
