Obituary

Ruby Helen Barber, of Dixon, was born on April 16, 1935, in Dixon, a daughter of Glen and Eunice (Alexander) Baker and departed this life at 7:57 p.m., Sunday evening, February 4, 2018, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Mrs. Barber had attained the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 19 days.

Mrs. Barber was united in marriage on July 9, 1949, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Stanley George Barber and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 24, 2011; her daughter, Helen Louise Barber on March 3, 2007; one grandson, Jamie Michael Barber on February 21, 1975; three brothers, Russell Baker, Lawrence Baker and Ronnie Baker and three sisters, Rosalie Clark, Pearl Campbell and infant Eleanor Baker.

Mrs. Barber was a member of the Santee Church, Dixon. She was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Mrs. Barber enjoyed music especially Blue Grass; crocheting, quilting and visiting with family and friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Barber include: one son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Deborah Barber, Dixon; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Pat Cryderman, San Tan Valley, Arizona; five grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Johnny, James and Amy; eleven great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Barber at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Jerry Dooley, Word of Life Fellowship, Dixon and Pastor Helen Winters, Seaton Faith Fellowship Church, Dixon officiating.

Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Barber were DeWayne Brown, Dean Baker, Artie Prater, Bruce Wagoner, Randall Withers and Kerry Copeland.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
