Russell Paul Matrow, of Crocker was born on October 30, 1948 in Pulaski County, a son of Earl Russell and Maybelle Vivian (Marso) Matrow and departed this life on Monday, March 22, 2021 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood. Mr. Matrow had attained the age of 72 years, 4 months and 20 days.

Mr. Matrow was a retired United States Air Force veteran having served over 20 years
and attaining the rank of TSGT/E6. Following his military career, he had installed security
systems and worked as a security guard. A few of the places that he served as security was Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and for numerous concerts and other venues. The family always enjoyed the stories that he would share with them. Russell was a member of the Odd Fellows Post #108, Crocker and the Amateur Radio call number KD0oWE, and enjoyed hunting, woodworking and being out of doors.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Matrow include: his siblings, Eddie Matrow and Linda Gilkey, both of Crocker; nephews and nieces, Ben, Jennifer, Laura and Jeff; great-nephew, Brian; great-niece, Jessica; and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Matrow was preceded in death by his father, Earl on July 6, 1991 and his mother, Maybelle on March 6, 2004.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 28, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Rick Smith officiating. Military honors will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service.

A private burial will be at a later time in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
