Sadie Elizabeth Rowden, of Hayden, was born on May 11, 1919, in Maries County, a daughter of Robert Edward and Sarah Ollie (Creech) Hollis, and departed this life at 11:45 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016, in the Maries Manor and Health Center, Vienna. Mrs. Rowden had attained the age of 97 years, 5 months, and 12 days.

Mrs. Rowden was first united in marriage to John Powers who preceded her in death. She then married Leslie Robertson on July 3, 1957, at Hayden, and to this union, two children were born. Mr. Robertson preceded his wife in death on August 21, 1967, she later married Alman Rowden who also preceded her in death. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Rowden was preceded in death by her father, Robert on October 26, 1969; her mother, Sarah "Ollie" on May 5, 1945; four brothers, an infant on September 16, 1909; Euell Hollis on August 13, 1984, Warren Hollis on May 23, 2014 and Robert E. Hollis on May 5, 2000; four sisters, Evelyn Rigsby on October 1, 1974; Gladys Richey on May 15, 1990; twins, Allie Mae Hollis on July 15, 2015 and Helen Hollis on February 18, 2016; and one niece, Marilyn Yoakum on May 25, 2010.

Mrs. Rowden was baptized early in life and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a housewife and homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, being out of doors and she was very proud of her Irish heritage.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Rowden include: her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Norma Robertson, Hayden; her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Curt Sinden, Hayden; several step-children; one brother and sister-in-law, Floyd Hollis, Columbia; five grandchildren, Dot, Les, Kevin, Kendall and Leslie; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zana, Ethan, Maria and Willow; Nephews; Nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation from 10 - 11 a.m with the funeral service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2016, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Norman Herren officiating.

Interment will be in the Kenner Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Rowden are Kevin Sinden, Leslie Sinden, Joe Hollis, Dale Wagner, Les Robertson and Jim Hollis. Honorary pallbearers are Virgil Rigsby, Kendall Sinden and Jonathon Rex.
