Obituary

Sarah Lou Sharp, age 95, of Crocker, was born on February 1, 1927 in Kirkwood, Missouri. Sarah was the daughter of the late John Spurgeon and Lora (Deardeuff) Hammack and passed from this life on Wednesday July 20, 2022 at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center, Tuscumbia.

Mrs. Sharp was united in marriage on November 16th, 1946 in Richland to John Emerald Sharp and to this union, two sons were born.

She was baptized early in life and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Crocker. Mrs. Sharp was a very talented lady. She enjoyed carving birds, fish, and ducks and you could often find her with a paint brush in hand. She had a gift for creating beautiful flower arrangements, often using Missouri wild flowers.  She was a phenomenal cook and loved driving fast cars. Amongst her talents and interests, she was a devoted wife, mother, and memaw. In addition to her human family, she had three boxer dogs; Ret, Fatima, and Neka whom she adored. Her exuberance for life and warm generosity will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Sharp include: two sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and Cindy Sharp, Opelika, Alabama and Lynn E. and Sherye Sharp, Waynesville; six grandchildren, John G. Sharp, James J. Sharp, William W. Sharp, Shanna L. Sharp, Christy Descovich, Lora Sharp; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Diane Richter and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by, her husband, John Emerald Sharp (June 10, 2009), her father, John Spurgeon Hammack (January 3, 1985), her mother, Lora Hammack (April 3, 1986), her siblings, Bill Hammack and Anna Belle Hammack.

Visitation will be held for Mrs. Sharp from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in the First Baptist Church, Crocker with Pastor Doug Jacobson officiating.

Interment is in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Sharp are Hank Newcomb, Don Mihalevich, Jimmy Sharp, Jimmy Mitchell, Billy Sharp and John G. Sharp. Bud Newcomb will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the First Baptist Church, Crocker with envelopes available at the church or the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Crocker.
