Obituary

Scott G. Lyons, 62, of Dixon, was born on March 24, 1960, at Norfolk, Virginia, a son of John Gerald and Shirley Louise (Miller) Lyons and departed this life at 5:43 p.m., Tuesday evening, March 21, 2023 in Mercy Springfield.

Scott was united in marriage on July 2, 1983, at Cuba to Miss Janet Ann Johnson and to this union, two daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley; his brother, Timm Lyons; his sister, Cheryl Johnson; his sister-in-law, Vicky Lee Johnson and his brother-in-law, John A. Johnson.

Scott was baptized as young child and was a member of the Catholic faith. He was employed by MODOT in the maintenance department since 2007. Scott was a member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed collecting guns and boating, but his greatest treasure was his grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Scott include: his devoted wife, Janet Lyons, Dixon; his children, Shelby Lee Lyons and her companion, Lee Neese, Dixon and Vicky Lee Lyons and her companion, Jonathan Webb, Springfield; his grandchildren, Hendrix Nicholas Scott Voyles and Amelia Indigo Ann Voyles;  his father-in-law and his wife, Grover L. and Michelle Johnson, Dixon and his mother-in-law, Bonnie L. Johnson, Dixon; brothers-in-law, Jamie (Dena) Johnson and Joseph Johnson, all of Dixon; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends.
