Obituary

Shirley Ann Kennedy, age 87, of Crocker, was born on March 6, 1939, at Swedeborg, a daughter of Finis and Callie (Powers) McGowan and passed from this life on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the Arrow Head Living Center, Osage Beach.

Shirley was united in marriage on February 3, 1957, at Richland to Russell Lee Kennedy and to this union, five children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 24, 1979; her parents, one grandson, Lane Kennedy; one brother and three sisters.

Shirley was baptized early in life and was a member of the Hilltop Christian Church, Crocker. She had worked for the cleaners in Waynesville, as a cook and was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. In her spare time Shirley enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching birds, playing yahtzee and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR.

Those left to cherish the memory of Shirley include: her children, Russell Kennedy, Randy (Jennifer) Kennedy, Jeanett (Stephen) Grausgruber, Jeanice (Joe) Dunlap and Pam (Jim) Patton;  six grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Stevens, Bobby Phillips, Shraea (Alex) Martinez, Ryn Dunlap (Sophie Dixon), Delayne (Quinten) Lawrence and Mariyah Kennedy; sixteen great-grandchildren; five brothers and one sister and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Shirley from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at 11 a.m. all on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Pastor Doug Jacobson officiating.

Interment will be in the Crocker Cemetery next to her beloved husband, under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Shirley will be Jim Patton, Stephen Grausgruber, Joe Dunlap, Robert Stevens, IV, Quinten Lawrence and Alex Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Jackson Lawrence, Xavier Martinez and Lane Kennedy.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Crocker Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund in memory of Mrs. Shirley Ann Kennedy with envelopes available at the funeral home the day of her service of C/O Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home P.O. Box 700. Crocker, MO  65452.
