Shirley Ruth Klein, of Dixon, was born on January 29, 1937, in Camden County, a daughter of Joe Raymond and R. Delphia (Oliver) Nelson, and departed this life at 1:40 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2015, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Shirley had attained the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 14 days.

Shirley was united in marriage on December 22, 1955, at Richland, to Robert George Klein and to this union, two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 2, 1997; one son, David Allen Klein on May 1, 2010; her father Joe on December 30, 1955 and her mother, Delphia on January 4, 2000.

Early in life, Shirley had worked in the restaurant industry and later was a homemaker and housewife. She enjoyed watching television, fishing, going to yard sales and her dog Cocoa.

Those left to mourn the passing of Shirley include: one daughter, Linda Kay Klein, state of Nebraska; two brothers, Jerry Nelson, Dixon and Michael Nelson, Richland; three sisters, Norma Jean West, Sleeper, Kathryn Nelson, Richland and Pauline McDaniel, state of Georgia; her best friend, Ruby Sankins, Dixon; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Shirley at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Tom Cromwell, Living Word Worship Center, Dixon officiating.

Interment was in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Relatives and friends served as pallbearers for Shirley.
