Stephen Andrew Alpaugh, Sr., 64, of rural Dixon, was born on April 24, 1957, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a son of Raymond and Lois (Phillips) Alpaugh and departed this life at 3:52 a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at his residence.

Stephen was united in marriage on June 2, 1977, at Okinawa, Japan to Miss Betty Jo Jordan and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.

Stephen was a United States Air Force veteran having served his country from 1974 until 1987. He later worked as a heating and cooling technician for many years. He enjoyed doing puzzles, gardening, long walks and bonfires with his wife.

Those left to mourn the passing of Stephen include: his wife, Betty Jo Alpaugh, Dixon; his mother, Lois Alpaugh, Hazlet, New Jersey; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen, Jr. and Amanda Alpaugh, Dayton, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Christopher Holdren, Argyle; four brothers, Raymond Alpaugh, state of Washington; John (Debra) Alpaugh, state of New Jersey; Matthew (Dorothy) Alpaugh, state of Kentucky and Mark (Madeline) Alpaugh, state of New Jersey; on sister, Karen (Stephen) Tiemann, state of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Sarah Holdren, Elijah Alpaugh, and Kaylin Alpaugh; and many other relatives and friends.

In following the wishes of Stephen, cremation was elected under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
