Steven Thomas Bell, of Dixon, was born on August 29, 1958, at Waynesville, the son of Franz and Ina "Sue" (Burns) Bell, and departed this life at 6:10 p.m., Wednesday evening, October 23, 2013, in the Maries Manor and Rehabilitation Center, Vienna. Steve had been in failing health the past few months and had attained the age of 55 years, 1 month and 24 days.
Steve had attended the First Assembly of God Church, Dixon and was a United States Army veteran. He had worked as a guard at the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, he enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and being with his family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Steve include: his father, Franz Bell, Dixon; his mother, Ina "Sue" Burns, Dixon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Burton Fritchey, Dixon and Gina and Greg Steffen, Marshfield; aunts; uncles; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Homer and Delia Bell and maternal grandparents, Ina and Bill Burns.
Funeral services were conducted for Steve at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Pastor Larry Albertson, Assembly of God Church, Dixon and Chaplain Lindy Hardwick, Phelps County Hospice, officiating.
Interment with full military honors was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Steve were Lucas Fritchey, Jeff Brown, Greg Steffen, Benny Roberson, Mario Jones and Jim Bell. Honorary pallbearers were Jaryn Brown, David Jones and Eli Steffen.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
