Steven Michael French, of Dixon, was born on August 13, 1955, at Dixon, a son of Timothy L. and Martha Marie (Groves) French, and departed this life at 11:45 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014, at his residence near Dixon. Steve had been ill since August and had attained the age of 59 years, 1 month, and 20 days.
Steve was united in marriage on July 2, 2009, at Rolla, to Ruby Margaret Fainter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jason Levi French on January 29, 2008.
Steve was a United States Army veteran and had worked for Kingsford Charcoal in Belle for over twenty years and at the time of his passing was a trainer on the assembly line for Copeland Emerson Climate Technology, Lebanon. Steve enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, hiking, taking care of his yard and being with his family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Steve include: his wife, Ruby French of the home in Dixon; one son, Jared French, Olympia, Washington; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and John Paul, Olympia, Washington; one brother, Harold French, Belle; one sister, Mary Wilson, Dixon; two grandchildren, Aaron and Sarah; and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside memorial service was held for Steve at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in the Dixon Cemetery, with Pastor James D. Bailey, High Point Church of God, Dixon, officiating.
