Thelma Ellen-Zilpha Alexander, of Dixon, was born on November 10, 1930 at Thrapston, England, a daughter of George William Chapman and Kate (Leverett) Tyrrell, and departed this life at 7:55 p.m., Monday evening, November 25, 2019, in the Richland Care Center, Richland. Mrs. Alexander had been in failing health for the past few months and had attained the age of 89 years and 15 days.
Mrs. Alexander was united in marriage on June 27, 1955, at Tangires, Morocco, Africa to Dail Wilkie Alexander, Sr. and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 18, 2007; her parents, George and Kate Tyrrell; two sons, Dail W. Alexander, Jr. on July 23, 2010 and Marcus D. Alexander on March 22, 2006 and one grandson, Charles Dail Alexander on August 26, 1974.
Mrs. Alexander was baptized in January 2013 by Pastor Doug Jacobson and she read her Bible faithfully every morning. She had worked at Brown Shoe Company, Dixon for over 23 years as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Alexander enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, watching wrestling, going to the boat, and baking and cooking for the holidays.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Alexander include: her son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Debbie Alexander, Holts Summit; one daughter and son-in-law, Alexis and Byron Mitchell, Richland; her brother, Brian Tyrrell of England, her cousin whom was like a sister, Rene McBride of England; seven grandchildren, Brandy, Dail III, Kevin, Tiffany, Cheyenne, Nikki and Serena; thirteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Alexander at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2019, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doug Jacobson, Eureka Baptist Church, Richland officiating.
Interment in the Seaton Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Alexander are Dail W. Alexander, III, Kevin Huey, Landon Hance, Mike Watson, Paul Watson and Dan Davis. Honorary pallbearer is Michael Treadway, II.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Seaton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
