Thelma Mae Baker, of Dixon, was born on February 12, 1933, at Dixon, a daughter of Dorsey James and Della Mae (Rollins) Helton, and departed this life at 8:14 a.m., Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Mrs. Baker had attained the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 12 days.
Mrs. Baker was united in marriage on December 6, 1950, at Dixon, to Dorman Stanley Baker, and to this union, one child was born. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 24, 2004; her father on August 15, 1953 and her mother on January 27, 1993.
Mrs. Baker attended the Burnett Christian Church, Dixon and later attended the First Baptist Church, Dixon. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company, Dixon and then for the I.G.A. Foodliner, Dixon, making donuts, as well as being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Baker enjoyed collecting antiques and baking.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Baker include: one daughter, Tonya Shelton, Dixon; two grandchildren, Tasha Keeth and her husband, Tim and Travin Shelton and his wife, Cassandra, all of Dixon; one great-grandchild, Chandler Shelton; one brother and sister-in-law, Dorsey and Mary Helton, Jefferson City; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Dean Sooter, Rolla; four sisters-in-law, Fern Veasman, state of Colorado; Wanda (Jake) Warren and Joyce (Lloyd) Ruhl, all of Dixon; and Barb Baker, independence and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held for Mrs. Baker from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon
Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Baker at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Bro. Rocky Carroll, First Baptist Church, Dixon, officiating.
Interment will be in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Baker are Travin Shelton, Tim Keeth, Matt Campbell, Danny Miller, Mike McKinnon and Tommy Shelton.
