MRS. THELMA V. WARNOL

Thelma Viola Warnol, of rural Dixon, the last of 10 children born to Andrew Calvin and Relora Jane (Brinkley) Wagoner, was born on November 30, 1918, in rural Newburg and departed this life at 12:05 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at her residence near Dixon. Mrs. Warnol had attained the age of 93 years, 5 months and 29 days.

While attending a baseball game between teams from Jerome and Frankswitch, a young man walked up to the plate and hit a home run. Mrs. Warnol told her sister, "I'm going to marry that handsome man" and on December 21, 1935, at Waynesville, she was united in marriage to William Theron Warnol, and to this union, nine children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 8, 2001; her parents; one son, William Chesley Warnol on March 22, 2002; two daughters, Erma Louella Warnol at age 3 years in April 1943 and Neoma Bernice Sommer on May 19, 2008; a granddaughter-in-law and great-granddaughter, Diane Boyster and Megan Sommer on August 22, 1998; one son-in-law, Norman Evans on October 7, 2010; six brothers, infants Lacey and Georgie Wagoner, Bill Wagoner, Fred Wagoner, Pete Wagoner, Andrew "Buck" Wagoner and three sisters, infant Mary Wagoner, Lucy Buckner and Kathryn "Katy" Bray.

Mrs. Warnol was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church, Jerome where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and followed her Lord in baptism at an early age. She helped her husband on the family farm and running the fishing lakes for over sixteen years, as well as being a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed quilting, picking wild greens, gardening, canning and her flowers and after a long day working in the garden, she enjoyed going to the river for some family fun.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Warnol include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Tina Warnol and Carl and Cindy Warnol, all of Dixon; four daughters, Barbara Warnol, Dixon; Kathryn Warnol, Rolla; Carolyn Jean Evans and Relora Warnol, both of Dixon; her son-in-law, George "Bud" Sommer; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Etta Wagoner, Louise Jacobs and Dorothy Warnol; special niece, Geraldine Miller, Dixon; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Warnol at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Don Arthur officiating. George "Bud" Sommer played "I Over Looked An Orchid" on his concertina and Pastor Bill Reese sang "Amazing Grace" and "Consider The Lilies" for the service.

Interment was in the Warnol Family Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Warnol were Bobby Wagoner, Delaine Wagoner, Eddie Wagoner, Dean Krumwiede, Ronnie Bray and Bruce Wagoner.
