Thomas George Alexander, of Osage Beach, formerly of Dixon, was born on April 3, 1939, at Iberia, a son of Thomas Gean and Gladys Irene (Rowden) Alexander and departed this life at 2:30 a.m., Sunday, April 4, 2021 in the Eldon Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mr. Alexander had attained the age of 82 years and 1 day
Mr. Alexander was united in marriage on May 31, 1958, in Iberia to Miss Mathiel Bailey and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by his father, Gean on January 16, 2003; his mother, Gladys on March 20, 2008 and one brother, Donald E. Alexander on July 23, 1966.
Mr. Alexander was baptized at an early age in Miller County in the big Tavern Creek. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge Post No. 346, Dixon. Mr. Alexander had worked for Alltel as the general manager of customer service retiring in 1993.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Alexander include: his wife of 62 years, Mathiel Alexander, Osage Beach; his son, Tom Alexander, Osage Beach; his daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Mark French, Dixon; grandchildren, Brett and wife, Maggie Reed, Breanna Alexander, Alex French, and Whitney and husband, Kyle Elseman; five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m., all on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Mark Rowden, Stonebrook Church officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be in the Freedom Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Alexander are Brett Reed, Mark French, Alex French, Whitney Elseman, Breanna Alexander, Donnie Bailey, Jerry Nichelson and Oscar Alexander. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon, Boyd, Adam, Carla, Wes, Bobby Jo, Danny, Ken, Will, Leo, Jim, Henry, Debbie, Jeanie and Del.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Freedom Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
