Thomas L. "Tom" Anderson, of Dixon, was born on August 23, 1943, at Rolla, a son of Marion Paul Bridgeman and Violet Patterson Anderson and departed this life at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at his residence near Dixon. Tom had attained the age of 74 years, 4 months and 18 days.
On August 8, 1965, in the Christian Church of Dixon, Tom was united in marriage to Miss Joy Lea Slone and to this union, two daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tom was a United States Navy veteran having served his country from June 28, 1961 until he was honorably discharged on August 21, 1964. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savoir and followed his Lord in baptism early in life and at the time of his passing was a member of the Word of Life Fellowship Church, Dixon. Tom had been a member of the Gideon's International, the Dixon saddle Club, the National Rifle Association and the Dixon Fire Department. He had worked at Westinghouse in Jefferson City, Quaker Window Products, Freeburg, Briggs and Stratton, Rolla and was owner and operator of Withers Auto Parts, Dixon. He enjoyed NASCAR and took great pride in his Corvettes.
Those left to mourn the passing of Tom include: his devoted wife of over 52 years, Joy Anderson, Dixon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Guy Krippelcz, Dixon and Kimberly and Tony Hudson, Cuba; two grandchildren, Brittney Barrick and Dakota Barrick and his wife, Rachel, all of St. Louis; one nephew, Jodie Anderson and his wife, Corinna, Dixon; two great-nieces, Jodi (Joel) Laughlin and Jara Anderson; one great-great-niece, Jentry Laughlin; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held for Tom at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Jerry Dooley, Word of Life Fellowship, Dixon officiating.
Interment was in the Seaton Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Tom were Jodie Anderson, Dakota Barrick, Guy Krippelcz, Tony Hudson, Dustin Slone and Brad Slone. Honorary pallbearers were Duayn Slone, Mike Slone, Dwight Slone and Jim Perry.
