Tresa Bernice (Stanton) Tanner, of Crocker, was born on February 20, 1929, at Burnwood, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Byran and Ruby (Wayman) Stanton, and departed this life at 9:57 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in the Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri. Mrs. Tanner had attained the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 24 days.
Mrs. Tanner was united in marriage on March 6, 1946, at Binghamton, New York, to Loman E. Tanner, Sr. and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Donna Bivens; her parents; one grandson, William Bivens, one granddaughter, Marie Ann Bivens; and her longtime friend, Edward Kelley.
Mrs. Tanner was a member of the Concord Christian Church, Crocker, the Crocker Gardening Club, the Senior Citizens of Crocker and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post No. 4956, Crocker. She had been a military wife, later working with her husband on their dairy farm as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Tanner include: one son and daughter-in-law, Loman "Larry" and Linda Tanner, St. Robert; grandson, Earl Jr. and his daughters, Bryanna and Brandy and their mother, Dolly Bivens; grandson, Christopher Tanner and his partner, Ron Johnson; granddaughters, Candra and Eric Vorum, Tasha and John Vanwassenhove, Talia Loudermilk; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five brothers, Boyce, Brian, Kenway, Ronnie and Dale; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Tanner at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2014, in the Concord Christian Church, Crocker with Bro. Lee A. Todd officiating.
Private burial will be held at a later date in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Swedeborg.
