Virgil Dale Breitmeyer, of Dixon, was born on October 29, 1939, at Bismarck, North Dakota, a son of Arthur and Mary (Neff) Breitmeyer and departed this life at 11:29 a.m., on Monday, April 15, 2019 in the Harry S. Truman Memorial Hospital, Columbia. Mr. Breitmeyer had attained the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 17 days.

Mr. Breitmeyer was united in marriage on November 15, 1997, at Newburg to Barbara Ann Buzinski Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ed Breitmeyer, Art Breitmeyer and Floyd Breitmeyer and one sister, Hazel, Luth.

Mr. Breitmeyer was a retired United States Air Force veteran having served over 20 years. Following his military career, he had worked for Boeing Aircraft as a Quality Control inspector. He enjoyed collecting coins, tools, being out of doors, gardening and fishing.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Breitmeyer include: his wife, Barbara Breitmeyer, Dixon; two sons, Bret and Cheryl Breitmeyer, Las Vegas, Nevada and Troy Breitmeyer, Morton, Washington; one step-son, Norman and Andrea Thomas, St. Robert; one step-daughter, Katy and Chris Thiltgen, Dixon; two granddaughters, Kay Walker and Erin Breitmeyer; two great-grandchildren, Zaydin Walker and Aurora Walker; five step-grandchildren, Parker, Isabel, C.J., Aurora and Emma; and many other relatives and friends.
